A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION TEXAS, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM
THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR FOR FUNDING
FROM THE JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK GRANT FUND FOR THE
FIRST OFFENDER DECISION MAKING COURSE.
WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the Governor receives and administers
annual block grant funds in Texas under Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program for the
purpose of making funds available for local projects that address one or more of the purposes specified
by Congress and listed under "Eligible Types of Projects" in the application kit; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station has received approval for a grant to
implement an educational component to the community service of first/second time criminal offenders
to give them tools to make better future decisions; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
THAT:
Part 1: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby accepts the aforementioned grant in the amount of
$5,200 for the purpose of implementing a decision making educational program;
Part 2: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby agrees to provide the local matching funds of $650 as
listed on the application. In the event of' loss or misuse of funds, grantee assures that the Criminal Justice
C IO Division of the Governor's Office will be reimbursed.
Part 3: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby authorizes the City Manager for
the City of College Station to accept this grant from the Criminal Justice Division of the
Governor's Office on behalf of the City of College Station.
Part 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
ADOPTED this 12 day of September, A.D. 2002.
