A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING A GRANT
APPLICATION WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR FOR FUNDING FROM THE JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK
GRANT FUND FOR THE FIRST OFFENDER DECISION MAKING COURSE.
WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the Governor receives and administers
annual block grant funds in Texas under Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program for the
purpose of making funds available for local projects that address one or more of the purposes specified
by Congress and listed under "Eligible Types of Projects" in the application kit.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station desires to reapply for a grant to continue an
educational component to the community service of first/second time criminal offenders to give them
tools to make better future decisions now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
THAT:
Part 1: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby approve the grant application for
$5850 for the purpose of developing and implementing a decision making educational
program;
Part 2: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby agrees to provide the local match
contribution of $650, which reflects a increase of $65 and revision to the original resolution of
May 8, 2002, as requested by the Governor's Office. In the event of loss or misuse of funds,
grantee assures that the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office will be
reimbursed.
Part 3: That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby authorizes and designates the City
Manager for the City of College Station to sign agreements with the Criminal Justice Division
of the Governor's Office for this grant on behalf of the City of College Station.
Part 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
ADOPTED this 27 day of June, A.D. 2002.
