A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS
APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE FOR
FUNDING TO BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS FOR A PROGRAM KNOWN AS
THE "BRAZOS VALLEY NARCOTICS TASK FORCE."
WHEREAS, the City Council of College Station, Texas has the moral obligation to the
citizens and taxpayers of College Station to ensure that the criminal justice system
operates in the most efficient and coordinated manner possible; and
WHEREAS, the City Council feels that the continuation of the Brazos Valley Narcotics
Task Force will materially enhance the administration of justice in College Station,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, the opportunity exists to fund vital parts of this program through the Office
of the Governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to apply for a grant from the Criminal Justice
Division of the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas to continue the Brazos
Valley Narcotics Task Force; and
',r WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide matching monies for the said project in
the amount of $50,233.00 as required by the grant application, in conjunction with Brazos
County, Texas, with Brazos County providing additional matching funds of $87,277.00,
fora total of $137,500.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station agrees that, in the event of a
loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, the City Council assures that the
City's portion of the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS:
PART 1: That the City Council hereby approves submission of the grant application for
the Brazos Valley Narcotics Task Force to the Office of the Governor of the
State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division.
PART 2: That the City Council hereby agrees to provide a local matching contribution
of $50,233.00 in conjunction with a matching contribution of $87,277.00 from
Brazos County, Texas, for a total matching contribution of $137,500.00.
PART 3: That the City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor of the City of College
Station to sign an interlocal agreement with Brazos County, Texas,
authorizing matching contributions.

PART 4: That this Resolution shall take place immediately from and after its passage.
