A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING A
GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE U.S. FIRE ADMINISTRATION OF THE FEDERAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR FUNDING FROM THE ASSISTANCE TO
FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM FOR EENHANCEMENT TO THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT SELF CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the U.S. Fire Administration of the Federal Emergency Management Agency
receives and administers grant funds under the Federal Fire Protection and Control Act, 15
U.S.C., Section 2201 et seq., as amended by the Floyd D. Spence National Defense
Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2001 (also known as the Assistance to Firefighters Grant
Program) for the purpose of making funds available for local projects that qualify under the list
of eligible categories listed in 44 CFR Part 152.1, "Purpose"; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Station desires to apply for a grant for
necessary enhancements to the fire department self-contained breathing apparatus program; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1:
PART 2:
That the City Council hereby approves the grant application for $68,950.00 for the
purpose of equipment upgrade and other enhancements to the fire department self-
contained breathing apparatus program.
That the City Council hereby agrees to provide the local match contribution of
$29,550 as listed on the application.
PART 3:
That the City Council hereby authorizes and designates the Fire Chief for the City of
College Station Fire Department to sign agreements with the Federal Emergency
Management Agency for this grant on behalf of the City of College Station.
PART 4: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
ADOPTED this 26th day of April , A.D. 2001.
