HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-26-01-11.07 - Resolution - 04/26/2001RESOLUTION NO.: 04-26-01-11.07 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION URGING THE TEXAS LEGISLATURE TO OPPOSE PASSAGE OF HB2034 BY REPRESENTATIVE BOSSE AND ITS COMPANION BILL IN THE SENATE, SB561, BY SENATOR SIBLEY, HB3105 BY REPRESENTATIVE HARDCASTLE, HB2836 BY REPRESENTATIVE DUKES AND ITS COMPANION BILL IN THE SENATE, SB1489, BY SENATOR SHAPLEIGH, RELATING TO INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS PROVISION 1N ARCHITECTURAL, ENGINEERING, AND/OR CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS. WHEREAS, the City of College Station, Texas enters into architectural, engineering, and construction contracts for the purposes of furthering the public good and the missions of the City; and WHEREAS, the City of College Station. Texas opposes the passage of HB2034, SB561. HB3105, HB2836, and SB1489; now theretbre BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: PART 1: That the City Council hereby urges the 77th Legislature to oppose the passage of HB2034, SB561, HB3105, HB2836 and/or SB1489. PART 2: That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the offices of the Governor Rick Perry. Lieutenant Governor Bill Ratlifl: Speaker of the House James E. Laney, Senator Steve Ogden, Representatives Fred Bro~vn and Lois Kolkhorst. PART 3: That this resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
