HomeMy WebLinkAbout8-26-2004-11.10 - Resolution - 08/26/2004RESOLUTION NO 8-26-2004-11.10 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, APPROVING AN OPTIONAL RELOCATION PROGRAM REHOUSING AGREEMENT FOR HOMEOWNERS AND AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE DEMOLITION AND RECONSTRUCTION OF A DILAPIDATED SINGLE FAMILY STRUCTURE AND AUTHORIZING TIlE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS. WHEREAS. the City of College Station. Texas, provides financial assistance pursuant to the City's Community Development Optional Relocation Program to assist cmzerts in obtaining adequate, decent, safe, and sanitary housing, and Ms. Merdyn B Rucker is a qualified applicant for this program. WHEREAS. the City of College Station. Texas, sohc~ted bids (Bid #04-57) for the demolition and new conslructmn of the slngl~-famdy residence located at 410 Edward StreeL College Station. Texas on behalfof Merilyn B Rucker and WHEREAS, the selection of Orion Conslroctlon is being recommended as the Iowes~ responsible bidder for the demolition and constmcuon services related to 410 Edward. College Station. Texas, now. therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of College Statmn, Texas. PART 1 That the City Council hereby approves the Optional Relocation Program Rehousing Agreement for Homeowners with Merdyn B. Rucker, and authorizes the expenditure of $7,000 for the demolition of the exlshng structure and $63,770 for the labor and materials required for the improvements related to the Optional Relocation Project of 410 Edward Street PART 2 PART 3 PART4 That the C,ty Council hereby finds that Orion Construction is the lowest responsible bidder That the City Council hereby awards the controct to Orion Construction. a sole proprietor, in the amount of $70,770 That the funding for this ProJect shall be as budgeted from the City of College Station's Community Development Budget, Optional Relocation Program Fund, in the amount of $70,770 PART 5.
