A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A TEXAS ttIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY
PROGRAM GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE SELECTIVE TRAFFIC
ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM WI FH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION.
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation has proposed that the City of College
Stauon pamcipate in its Comprehensive Select Traffic Enforcement Program to reduce driver
nsk4aking behavior by combining alcohol, occupant protection, speed and mowng violations to
reduce injuries and £ataliues on the roadways and intersections, and
WHEREAS, The Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Program is effective from
October 1, 2004 to September 30, 2005, during wh:ch time the City of College Station shall be
reimbursed for 75°/° of the expenses incurred to operate the program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of College Stanon beheves that the cflizens will benefit
from the City participating m this Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Program; now.
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
Part 1- That the C~ty Council of the City of College Station, Texas, hereby approves the grant
contract for $52,207 for the Police Department.
Pan 2' That the City Council of the City of College Station hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign
the Comprehensive Selecuve Fraffic Enforcement Program grant agreement referred to
above:
Part 3: That this resolution shall take effect inunediately from and after its passage.
