Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Ames, Crawford, Orr, Wilcox;
,) City Secretary McGinnis; and City Manager Vaughn.
Visitors present: T. VT. Leland, J. I4. Rowlett, J. W. Barger, S. R. Wright,
F. R. Benson, G. F. Boyett, S. A. Lipscomb, Dr. Alvin Waller, Director of
Brazos County Health Unit.
By motion of Councilman Crawford, seconded by Councilman Orr, Ordinance No.
102 was approved and ordered published.
The Mayor announced the appointment of the following men to constitute
an Advisory Committee to the Council in the matter of general City improve-
ments, extensions of services, etc.: C. W. Crawford, Chairman, S. A.
Lipscomb, T. W. Leland, S. R. Wright, and E. E. Brown.
On motion of Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Ames, the Mayor was
authorized to communicate with local representatives in the State Legislature
to advise them of the attutude of the Council pending certain bills now under
consideration by the Legislature.
RESOLUTION
Councilman Orr introduced a resolution and moved its adoption.' The motion
was seconded by Councilman Ames. The motion carrying with it the adoption
of the resolution, prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilman Ames, Crawford, Orr, Wilcox.
Noes: None
The resolution is as follows:
Whereas, The City of College Station is the owner of Lots 1, 2, 3, 20, and
21, Bloak 11, Boyett Addition,
And Whereas,The City Council is proposing to construct a warehouse and
office on Lots 19 2 and 3 of Block 11, Boyett Addition and, cannot
use for this purpose Lots 20 and 21 of Block 11, Boyett Addition
because of zoning restrictions
And Whereas, Lots 4 and 5, Block 11, Boyett Addition are adjacent to the
Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 11, Boyett and entirely suitable for the
proposed construction,
And Whereas, Mr. Guy Boyett, acting for the present owners of Lots 4 and 5,
Block 11, Boyett Addition has agreed to exchange , lot for lot,
Lots 4 and 5, Block 11, Boyett Addition for Lots 20 and 21J. Block
11, Boyett Addition on the:,one condition that the City of College
Station pay all costs of the transfer.
Therefore, Be it resolved and ordered by the City Council of the City of
College Station, Texas:
That the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to effect the exchange of Lots
20 and 21, Block 11, Boyett Addition for Lots 4 and 5, Block 11, Boyett
Addition o.nd to pay all legal expenses rtecossc.ry to of.Feet the oxehange.
