June 8, 1946
Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Ames, Brown, Harrington, Orr, .
Wilcox; City Manager Smith; and City Secretary McGinnis.
Visitors present: H. E. Burgess, C. J. Gorzycki.
Purpose of the meeting was to consider completing negotiations for the purchasing
of some thirty odd acres from Mr. Victor J. Boriskie for use as a city cemetery.
The Mayor reported that at the community meeting held at the High School
gymnasium the evening of June 6, 1946 there was passed a resolution urging the
City Council to proceed immediately to acquire property for a city cemetery.
On motion of Councilman Wilcox, seconded by Councilman Brown, the following
resolution was adopted:
RESOLUTION
Evidence having been presented to the City Council
that there is an urgent necessity for the establishing
of a city cemetery the Mayor is authorized to advise
Mr. Victor J. Boriskie that the City will exercise its
:: :: <; option dated April 9, 1946 just as soon as Mr. Boriskie
• can furnish the City with an abstract of title, deed
and survey. It is the further desire of the Council
that Mr. Boriskie be requested to attend to these details
at the earliest possible moment.
City Manager Smith and Mr. H. E. Burgess were asked to convey this information
to Mr. Boriskie immediately and to request of him that he proceed at once
to have prepared an abstract of title, a deed and a survey.
