December 19, 1946
Members present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Ames) Brown, Crawford, Orr,
ldilcox, City Manager Vaughn and City Secretary McGinnis.
The purpose of the meeting was to canvass the returns of the election of
December 17, 1946. The Council adopted the following resolution by unanimous
vote:

On this the 19th day of December., 1946, the City Council of the City
of College Station, Texas, convened in Special session at the regular meeting
place, with the following members thereof present, to wit:

and the following absent: Harrington,, , constituting a quorum, when
among other proceedings had, were the following:

Councilman Crawford introduced a resolution and moved its
adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Wilcox
The motion, carrying with it the adoption of the resolution, prevailed
by the following votn.:
AYES: Councilmen,, Ames , Browner , Crawford ,
Orr , Wilcox ,
NOES: None.
The resolution is as follows:
WHER&IS, on the 19th day of November, 19461 the City Council adopted an
order calling an election to be held in the City of College -Station, Texas,
on the 17th day of December, 1946, on the following propositions:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
Shall the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, be
authorized to issue the bonds of the City of College Station, in the sum
of $35,000.002 payable serially not to exceed twenty (20) years from their
date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed four (4%) per cent per annum,
and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking

fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, for the purpose of constructing
improvements and extensions to the waterworks system of said City, as
authorized by.the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas.
PROPOSITION NO. 2
Shall the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, be
authorized to issue the bonds of the City of College Station, in the sum
of $50,000.00, payable serially not to exceed twenty (20) years from their
date, bearing interest at a -rate not to exceed four (4%) per cent per annum,
and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking
fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, for the purpose of constructing
improvements and extensions to the sanitary sewer system of said City, as
authorized by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas.
PROPOSITION NO.. 3
Shall the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, be
authorized to issue the bonds of the City of College Station, in the sum of
`!15,000.00, payable serially not to exceed twenty (20) years from their
date, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed four (4'10) per cent annum,
and to levy a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a
sinking fund sufficient to redeem them at maturity, for the purpose of constructing
improvements and extensions to the electric li-ht system of said City, as
authorized by the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas.
WHEREAS, upon consideration of the returns of said election, it apperas
that the same was in all respects legal-ly held, after due notice had been
given, and that; the said returns were duly and legally made, and that there
were cast at, the said election 230 valid and legal votes, of which number
there were cast:

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
That said election was duly called: that notice was giv;;n in accordance
with law and in accordance with the order calling the election; that the election
was held in accordance with lair; that due return of said election has been made
by the proper officers; that said election has resulted favorably to the issuance

of said bonds; and that a majority of the resident qualified property taspaying
voters, who own taxable ;oroperty in said City and who h.Lve duly rendered that
same for taxation, voting at said election, voted in favor of the issuance of
said bonds.
That the City Council be and it is hereby in all things authorized, ordered
and directed to issue said bonds and to do any and all things necessary and /or
convenient in connection therewith.
