Meeting of the City Council, Thursday, May 14, 1942.
Members Present: Mayor Langford, Councilman 'Wilcox, Burns, Smith, and
Lloyd.
Motion was made by Mr. Wilcox, seconded by Mr. Smith, that the Mayor be
authorized to negotiate the final arrangements for the purchase of a lot
frmm Mr. Guy Boyett. This lot is to be paid for in utility charges assess-
ed against Mr. Boyett. He is at present in arrears in the amount of $178.28.
The purchase price is $ 500.00. The balance of $371.72 will be paid in
monthly utility bills. The lot under purchase is # 1, Block 11, Boyett
Addition. It was agreed that the city is not to chlrge the penalties on
the delinquent bills, and in exchange, Mr. boyett is not to charge the
city interest.
Motion was made by. Mr. Wilcox, seconded by Mr. Smith, to pay a bill of
$ 146.32 to Mr. Antony, for the writing of city employee's bonds, and in-
surance policies on city equipment.
Motion was made by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Burns , to pay Mr. W. J.
Coulter $ 4500, which is the amount remaining on the Warrants issued by
the city, provided Mr.. Coulter would be willing to release the Warrants.
Motion was made by Mr. Wilcox, seconded by Mr. Lloyd, that the Mayor be
directed by the Council to start negotiations for the refinancing of the
Southside Development Company and. Oakwood Utilities. Motion carried.
D'` Motion was made by Mr. Wilcox, seconded by Mr. Lloyd, to authorize the
Mayor to ask Dr. T. 0. 'Walton, Jr., to act as Health Director of the City
of College Station.
Motion was made by Mr. burns, seconded by Mr. wilcox, tla t the Council re-
appoint Mr. Gorzycki as City Judge.
Motion was made by Mr. burns, seconded by Mr. Smith, that Mr. Wilcox be
appointed as Mayor pro-tem.
Motion was made by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Wilcox, that the city continue
with the making of the tax roll as it has in previous years.
The following assignments were given by the Mayor to the members of the
Council:
Streets, Mr. Orr
Sewers and Water, Mr. Munson
Lights, and all matters relative to electric services and city inventories,
Mr. Smith
Ordinances, publicity, and communications, Mr. Wilcox
Health, and all matters pea•taining to this subject, Mr. burns
City Cleaning, mowing, fire,police, and garbage, Mr. Lloyd.
