Meeting of the City Council, February 19, 1942.
Members tresent: Mayor Anderson, Aldermen Lipscomb, Orr and
i bangford.
Motion was made by Mr. Lipscomb, seconded by Mr. Langford, that
the plans for the new theater, as presented by Mr. Ferguson, be
accepted by the Council, and that the City Engineer pass on the
plans as presented to the Council.
The Council authorized the Mayor to write a letter to Dr. Hedges
to the effect that the city will give # 100 to be used for
black out purposed when the time becomes necessary.
Motion was made by 1'Lr. Langford, seconded by lr. Orr, that the
City pay the rental on the telephone placed for Civilian Defense
in the Guard Room at A. & College. Motion passed.
It was agreed that Mr. Orr is to send a large copy of the city
map to Mr. Wilson in Bryan.
The Mayor was authorized by the Council to send Dr. hddges a
check for # 25 for helping on expenses in Civilian Defense
V'ork.
Motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by Mr. Lipscomb, that
Ordinance No. 66, be passed. Motion carried. The Ordinance
reads as follows: " An Ordinance Designating that the Term of
One Councilman from Ward No. 1 shall be Extended One year''.;
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of College Station,
Texas, the 19th day of February, 1942.
