A meeting of the city council was held in the city effide, Thurs-
day, October 31, at 7 P.M. , with Mayor Andersen presiding, and
Aldermen Orr, Lipscomb, Langford, Munson, and Wilcox present.
A motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by Mr. Orr, that the
Mayor be authorized to sign the contract between the City of
College Station and College Hills Estates Company.
Motion was made by Mr. Orr, seconded by i'lr. Langford, that the
Mayor be authorized to pay $ 1100 , or approximately that amount
to College Hills Estates, when the City Warrants are issued,
( ) or, not later than Decer¢ber 1.
A motion was made by mr. Orr, seconded b y Mr. Munson, that the
mayor authorize the city engineer to begin with the work of
the installation of sewers, in the north east corner, contingent
upon the signature of the contract with College Hills Estates.
Motion was mode by girl Langford, seconded by Mr. Orr, that so
much of the Resolution passed October 28, 1940, reading, " That
said contract and agreement to make said purchase be centim gent
upon the completion of satisfactory and suitable arrangements
to be made by said city to finance and pay the cost of said
purchase" be rescinded.
Mr. Langford and Mr. McNew were asked to look into the Cavitt
Filling Station situation and make a report to the City Council.
On motion of Mr. Lipscomb, seconded by Mr. Orr, the City Secre-
tary is instructed to deposit monthly, beginning December 1,
1940, $ 200 out of monthly earnings, to be credited to the
account of the Sewer, Light, and Water Warrant Fund. Motion
carried.
The matter of. issuing $ 7500 of city warrants was effected. The
Council voted to issue 15-- 1940 Series of, City Warrants-- of
$ 500 each, dated November 1, 1940, bearing an interest of 5%.
