A regular meeting of the City Council was held in the City Office ( ) Thursday, October 17, at 7 P.M. with Mayor Anderson, Aldermen Lipscomb, Wilcox:, Langford, and Orr present. It was agreed that the Mayor was to write a letter to the Attorney General concerning the taxing of the R.E.A. Lines. Mr. Antony met With the Council and presented a letter of proposal to the Council from College hills Estates, in regard to the sale of their utilities to the city. A motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by Mr. Wilcox, that the Mayor be authorized to appoint a connittee to be composed of ( Orr, Munson, and Mc.New, to drww up terms of contract between the City of College Station and College Hills Estates, Motion carried. A motion was made by Mr. Orr, seconded by Mr. Wilcox;• 1}o authorize Mr. Frank Thrown to order the material and transformers for West Park Addition. Motion carried. Motion was made by Mr. Orr, seconded by Mr. Langford, to author- ize Mr. Mc1Vow to buy a car load of asphalt, motion carried. Motion was made by 111r. Orr, seconded by Mr. Wilcox, to write let =ers to the delinquent tax payers. Motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by Mr. Wilcox, that the Mayor be authorized to exercise his judgement in taking out insurance for the furniture in the city office. Motion carried. Motion was by Mr. Wilcox, seconded by Mr. 1angford, that a 60' tax rate be set for the city for 1940. It was agreed to write Mr. Charles Gorzycki a letter telling him that he does not have the right to furnish water in the City of College Station, and that he discontinue this service by Nov. 15. It was agreed to pick up stray dogs and take them to the Vet hospital if this arrangement con be made, and the city to pay rent on the dogs. Mayor J:Lad City Secret �- 00070
