A meeting of the City Council was held on Thursday, October
1, at 7 P.M. , at the City Office, with Mayro Anderson, Aldermen
Lipscomb, Orr, Wilcox, Munson and Langford in attendence.
A committee was appointed by the Mayor, composed of mr.
Wilcox, Mr. Langford, and the mayor, to talk with the developers
of College Hills Estates, on their utilities.
It was agreed to write a letter to Mr. McAdams in Austin, about
the collection of taxes from the R.E.A.
Motion was made by Mr. Munson, seconded by Mr. Wilcox, to recom-
mend the budget at the public hearing on Wednesday, 'ctober 2,
as presented by mayor Anderson.
The Council agreed to having one utility fund instead of the for-
mer two accounts.
Motion was made by 1'"r. Wilcox, seconded by Mr. Orr, to ch
the name of the street, which was formmrly Bell Street to ttn-
Street. The Mayor is to take this up with the College authorities.
Motion was made by Mr. "rr, seconded by Mr. Wilcox, that Mr. Mc
New work out a sustem for numbering the houses in west Park
Addition.
The secretary was asked to get 100 extra copies of the Battal-
ion when the Plumbing and Ebeetrical Ordinances are publ1shed.
Motion was made by Mr. Langford, seconded by Mr. Wilcox, to pay
a bill of $ 2264.00 to Mr. R. B. Butler.
The secretary was asked to call Mr. A. Mitchell and ask him to
serve as election judge in the election to be held on Saturday
October 5.
The Council asked that the Mayro write a letter to Mr. U. C.
Greer, Austin, to try and secure 3 traffic lights for the city;
two, to be used at the main entracne, and one at Grant's corner.
A motion was made by Mr. Orr, and seconded by Mr. Langford, to
reduce the residential rate on lights to 10/ for the first 25;
4/ for the next 75; and 3¢ for all over 100.
