Minutes: Meeting of the City Counci4 September 19, 1940.
Present: Anderson, Munson, Orr, Langford; MoNew, Brown.
Mr. y'angford was asked to write a note of appreciation to the
Editor of the Battalion for the Editorial " College Station" in
the issue of September 19.
The question of admitting the holik Addition to the city was re-
ferred to the Utility Committee.
The Mayor was authorized to pay D. Mike $ 75.00 for the office
safe which was delivered this morning.
The Mayor was authorized to talk to Dr. F. B. Clark about contro-
versial question which had arisen in connection with 'V&A Program
for running drainage ditch through the lake area of College earl .
He was also advised to solicity eooperation of of Dr. C1Rrk in
this program, as well as to the work which may be anticipatedt:in
the future. Failing in this the Mayor was authorized to advise
Dr. Clark that the City Commission would take up all of these
matters with the board of Directors of College.
The Council authorized traveling expenses for mr. Orr and "ar.
Munson in making a trop to Austin to confer with the LCRA in
connection with the possibility of securing electric service
from that source.
Installation of a base ball net (game) was authorized on the
Boyett lot, provided the person installing same would pay the
necessary deposits and installation costs.
The gouncil fixed the installation of all temporary meter service
at $ 3.00 each
The City Marshall was authorized to install tow outside lights;
one in the rear of the Sosolik Building; one in the rear of the
of the Lauterstein Building.
City Engineer MoNew was authorized to buy by telephone, one car-
load of patch material add to begin repairing streets in Col-
lege Hills Estates.
A call meeting of the Council was set for Tuesday night, Octoter
1, for the purpose of transacting routine business.
A public hearing on the budget was set for the evening of Oct. 2.
