HomeMy WebLinkAbout1-12-2006-14.01 - Resolution - 01/12/2006 RESOLUTION NO. 1-12-2006-14.01 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITI COUNCIL OF THE CITI OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, SUPPORTING PARTICIPATION IN THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY ("FEMA") HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE PURCHASE OF FLOOD PRONE PROPERTI LOCATED AT 306 REDMOND DRIVE. WHEREAS, the Mitigation Action Plan adopted October 21, 2004, by the City Council of the City of College Station, Texas, proposes to purchase flood-prone properties to remove structures subject to chronic flooding and to facilitate stream restoration project in the Wolf Pen Creek basin, and WHEREAS, funding is available to College Station through the Governor's Division of Emergency Management under the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program for the Presidentially-declared disaster, Hurricane Rita; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITI COUNCIL OF THE CITI OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: PART 2: That the City Council hereby supports the City's participation in FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program for the purchase of 2.76 acres located at 306 Redmond Drive being Redmond Terrace Subdivision, Block 4, Lots 18, 19,20 and adjacent part of Kapchinski Subdivision, Block 2. That the City Council hereby directs staff to proceed to prepare the application for grant funding necessary to participate in FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program for the purchase of 2.76 acres located at 306 Redmond Drive being Redmond Terrace Subdivision, Block 4, Lots 18, 19, 20 and adjacent part of Kapchinski Subdivision, Block 2.
