HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-1733 - Ordinance - 01/14/1988ORDINANCE NO. 1733_ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, BY ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 2.11, RESIDENTIAL ENERGY COMPLIANCE CODE; AND, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS THAT Chapter 3 of the Code of Ordinances, City of College Station, Texas, Is hereby amended by adding a section to be numbered Section 2.8. Residential Energy Compliance Code, which said section shall read as follows: "B. RUMEIIIlA1�NERRY__�QRPL1eN�E_�QpE_flRQPIEp There are hereby adopted regulations establishing minimum requirements for the design of new residential buildings and additions to existing buildings that provide shelter for residential occupancies, said regulations being specifically contained In a city code book entitled "College Station Residential Energy Compliance Code - 1988 Edition." Said "College Station Residential Energy Compliance Code," a copy of which Is filed with the City Secretary, is hereby adopted as the official residential energy compliance code to the same extent as if set forth at length herein. Residential buildings which are not covered by said code are those that have more than 5,000 square feet of gross floor area per dwelling unit." That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to the extent of the conflict only. 005199 Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any purpose, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby. I V. That the preservation of the general welfare of the public necessitates immediate action, and this Ordinance shall be effective from and after the date of its passage as provided by the Charter of the City of College Station.
