HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-1862 - Ordinance - 09/13/1990ORDZN~NCE NO. 1862 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 11, SECTION 2, ORDINANCES, OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TO SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR WATER AND SEWER PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. OF THE CODE OF TEXAS RELATING SERVICES; AND BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION: That Chapter 11, Section 2.A of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 2: WATER AND SEWER SERVICES A. SCHEDULE OF RAT~g The monthly rates to be charged consumers for public utility services, namely water and/or sewerage connections, shall be in accordance with the schedules as follows: (1) Rates for Water ServicP (a) For domestic consumers, whether single-family or multi-family, using water within the corporate limits of the City. (b) (c) Service Charge: $7.70 per month Usage Charge: $1.95 per 1,000 gallons For commercial and /or industrial consumers using water within the corporate limits of the City. Service Charge: $11.00 per month Usage Charge: $ 1.95 per 1,000 gallons Subject to available capacity under present City of College Station load requirements, present system capability, anticipated load requirements and anticipated system capability, the City of College Station will enter into contracts for the sale of water outside the City upon final approval of the City Council. ORDINANCE NO. 1862 Page 2 All customers receiving water service under contract in which water rates are set by ordinance or unaddressed by contract shall pay 1.25 times the domestic consumer cost of water as set by the City Council for each fiscal year. (e) In the event the City of College Station is unable to meet the water service demands of its residents and customers outside the City of College Station, residents shall receive preference in service unless otherwise required by contract. (2) Rates for Sewerage Service (a) For consumers using sewerage service for household purposes, single or multi-family, within the corporate limits of the City: Monthly charge per household unit: $14.25 (b) For consumers using sewerage service for commercial and/or industrial business establishments within the corporate limits of the City: Service Charge $4.50 per month Usage Charge $1.72 per 1,000 gallons of water usage (c) For consumers using sewerage service outside the corporate limits of the city: Charge per month shall be 1.15 times the amounts set forth in (a) and (b) above. II. That Chapter 11, Section 2.E of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: "E. EFFECTIVE DATES OF RATES These rates shall be effective on all invoices submitted by the City of College Station to users on or after October 1, 1990." ORDINANCE NO. 1862 PAGE 3 III. Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any purpose, the remainder of this ordinance shall not be affected thereby. IV. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances, in conflict herewith are superseded to the extent of the conflict only. Ve And, it is ordained that this ordinance shall become effective from and after it's passage in accordance with the City Charter of the City of College Station.
