AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2. OF ORDINANCE NO. 1638,
ZONING ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
SPECIFICALLY TO PROVIDE FOR A DEFINITION OF THE TERM
"COUNTRY CLUB".
THE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colleqe Station,
Texas, held a public hearing In the City Hall at 7:00 p.m.
on Thursday, May 24, 1990, on the question of defining the
term "country club."
AND WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to amend this
section~
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS:
Amend Section 2. to includes
COUNTRY CLUB~ A building or facility, adjacent to and
associated with a golf course, operated for social,
educational, or recreational purposes. The primary sport
shall be golf. Secondary sports uses may include swl~eaing,
tennis, racquet sports, equestrian activities and similar
sporting events. Other secondary uses may includes tho on-
premise sale and consumption of food and drink including
alcoholic beveraqes~ health club activities~ the sale of
sports equipment~ restaurant~ and pro shop. Additional uses
include offerlnq accoauaodations on a daily rate for
transient guests~ retail sales~ and maintenance facilities.
This ordinance shall become effective from and after its
passage in accordance with the City Charter of the City of
College Station.
PASSED, ADOPTED, AND APPROVED this 24th day of May, 1990.
