AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A TWENTY-FOOT WIDE
ALLEY, WHICH RUNS BETWEEN LOTS 2 AND 3, AND LOTS 4 AND 5, BLOCK
6, TAUBER ADDITION, FROM NAGLE STREET TO STASNEY STREET IN THE
CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the City of College Station, has received an Application for the Aban-
donment of a twenty-foot wide alley, which runs between Lots 2 and 3, and Lots 4
and 5 Block 6, Tauber Addition, from Nagle Street to Stasney Street in the City of
College Station, said alley being more particularly described on Exhibit A'
attached hereto; and
WHEREAS on August 25, 1994, the City Council of the City of College Station,
Texas, heard the application of The Most Reverend John E. McCarthy, D D,
Bishop of the Diocese of Austin, on behalf of St. Mary's Catholic Pansh and
Student Center, for the vacation and abandonment of the aforementioned twenty-
foot wide alley which runs between Lots 2 and 3, and Lots 4 and 5, Block 6,
Tauber Addition, from Nagle Street to Stasney Street, according to the plat
recorded in Volume 133, Page 182, of the Deed Records of Brazos County,
Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of College
Station, Texas, that the twenty-foot wide alley which runs between Lots 2 and 3,
and Lots 4 and 5, Block 6, Tauber Addition, from Nagle Street to Stasney Street,
as described by metes and bounds on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be abandoned
and vacated, that the Mayor and the City Secretary be authorized to convey by
quit claim deed on behalf of the City of College Station any right or claim that the
City has m and to said twenty-foot wide strip of land to The Most Reverend John
E McCarthy, D D, Bishop of the Diocese of Austin.
PASSED, ADOPTED and APPROVED this 25t:h day of August, 1994.
