Longtime listeners to WTAW should recall that the morning show went by the moniker Muck and Mire. And like most everything else, there is a story there. And like most WTAW stories, Scott DeLucia knows it. 00:00:34 Scott DeLucia (SD) Let me give you some Muck and Mire remembrances, I guess, because there are any number of them. Uh, the show started with Joe Monroe and Bob Bick. They were just two guys who were doing the morning radio show, which is not unusual, and they would sit in a very small room uh, basically across the counter from each other. And one day, it was a gloomy day, and they said, man, it sure is horrible outside. And one of them said, yeah, we're kind of stuck in the muck and mire of things. And so that's how Muck and Mire happened. It's just one of those organic things that, that stuck. And as a result, that became the name of the show, which was probably better because there ended up being different iterations with different people. And it was the, it was the Muck and Mire show with Joe and Bob. It was new and different in a lot of ways uh, because they ended up talking a whole lot more than playing music. They started putting phone calls on the air. 00:01:30 TT Well, like Scott said, Muck and Mire has had different personas played by Joe Monroe and Bob Bick, Joe Monroe and Scott DeLucia, Joe Monroe and Sam Jones, Then Joe Monroe and Mary Mike Hatcher, and then Scott DeLucia and Mary Mike Hatcher. And of course, today there's the three infomaniacs of Scott, Zach, and Chelsea, still going strong in the morning on WTAW, the first 100 years.
