HomeMy WebLinkAboutCounty Approves Participation in Hotel/Conference Center TIF COUNTY APPROVES PARTICIPATION IN HOTEL/CONFERENCE CENTER TIF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, April 9, 2002 – Brazos County unanimously agreed to participate in College Station's Hotel/Conference Center TIF. The TIF will utilize tax revenues generated inside of Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #15 to pay for the $18 million conference center. The project also includes a 250,000 square foot corporate headquarters for First American Bank and the Adam Corporation and a 300 room, four star hotel valued at approximately $38 million. Additional space has been set aside for a performing arts center. The Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone is made up of approximately 197 acres, 55 acres of which will house the hotel/conference center and corporate headquarters. The additional 132 acres is zoned mixed use and will provide space for office, retail, commercial, and a small amount of residential uses adjacent to the hotel/conference center and corporate headquarters development.
