SCHLUMBERGER AND COMPAQ
ANNOUNCES EXPANSION PLANS IN TEXAS A&M RESEARCH PARK
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, November 14, 2001 – Compaq Computer
Corporation of Houston, Texas and Schlumberger Technology Corporation of Sugarland,
Texas announced their plans to expand operations in College Station. Compaq will lease
30,000 square feet and Schlumberger will lease 23,000 square feet in a new 70,000 square
foot building to be built in the Texas A&M Research Park. The $7 million building is
scheduled to be completed in July 2002. Combined, the two companies will increase local
payroll by approximately $1.7 million.
The commitment by Compaq and Schlumberger will result in an increase in quality
jobs and additional investment in the region.
The local Schlumberger offices provide core consulting services in Reservoir
Engineering Technology and Integrated Project Management for Schlumberger’s world
wide operations. Schlumberger is a world leader in developing and integrating new
technology for the oil & gas industry.
The local Compaq office are involved in engineering development and testing for
Compaq's engineering development teams around the world.
