A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SPECIAL LEGISLATION FOR THE CREATION OF
ROCK PRAIRIE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1.
WHEREAS, a municipal management district, to be known as the Rock Prairie
Management District No. 1 (the "District ") is proposed to be created by the Texas
Legislature within the City of College Station, Texas (the "City ") for the benefit of the
public, including the promotion, development, encouragement, and maintenance of
employment, commerce, transportation, housing, tourism, recreation, the arts,
entertainment, economic development, safety, and the general welfare in the area of the
District and the construction of certain infrastructure improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to support legislation for the creation of the District; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Local Government Code provides that land within a city's
boundaries may not be included within a municipal management district without the
city's written consent;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
PART 1: That the facts and opinions in the preamble of this Resolution are
true and correct.
PART 2: That the City Council hereby supports the passage of special
legislation in the 83 Texas Legislature for the creation of the
District.
PART 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and adoption.
