1. Call to Order.
With a quorum present, the Regular Meeting of the Sunset Advisory Commission was
called to order by Chairman Erwin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 in the
Administrative Conference Room, City Hall, 1101 Texas Avenue, College Station,
Texas, 77842.
2. Hear Visitors.
No visitors present.
3. Presentation, possible action and discussion to approve absentee requests.
No action.
4. Presentation, possible action and discussion to approve meeting minutes from
March 20, 2012.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Sunset Advisory Commission Member Marshall
and a second by Sunset Advisory Commission Member Marsh, the Sunset Advisory
Commission voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed, to approve the minutes from March
20, 2012.
5. Presentation and discussion regarding committees encompassed by Planning and
Development Services.
Bob Cowell, Director of Planning and Development Services, was present to answer
questions from Sunset Advisory Commission members.
No action.
6. Presentation, and discussion to review new committee questionnaires and any new
reports regarding meeting visits conducted by Sunset Commission members.
No action.
7. Presentation and discussion to draft a final Sunset report.
By majority consensus it was agreed that the final meeting of the Sunset Advisory
Committee, to discuss and approve a final sunset report, will be held on Monday, May 7`
at 6:00 p.m. The report will be tentatively scheduled to be presented at the first City
Council meeting in June.
8. Discussion and possible action on future agenda items — A Sunset Advisory
Commission member may inquire about a subject for which notice has not been
given. A statement of specific factual information or the recitation of existing policy
may be give. Any deliberation shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject for
a subsequent meeting.
By majority consensus a request was made to consult with the City Attorney about the
sunset recommendations, in re gards to legal feasibility.
It was also requested that the late Mr. Dick Birdwell be recognized in the final sunset
report, for his service on the Sunset Advisory Commission.
9. Adjournment
There being no further business, Chairman Erwin adjourned the Regular Meeting of the
Sunset Advisory Commission at 6:52 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012.
