WWII Steering Committee Wins Award of Excellence! The Brazos County Texas in WWII steering Committee accepted the Award of Excellence in Preserving History from the Texas Historical Commission on April 22, at the 2006 Annual Historic Preservation Conference in Galveston, Texas. The Brazos County Texas in WWII event featured: a program, gallery talks, vet- eran panels, and 1940's fashions, music, movies, automobiles and military vehi- cles. The award recognized the excellence of the September 3, 2005 event, Brazos County Texas in WWII that was held at The Museum at the George Bush Presidential Library.
