AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING BICYCLE ROUTES AND AUTHORIZING THE ERECTION OF NECESSARY
TRAFFIC AND PARKING CONTROL DEVICES, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION:
Pursuant to the authority granted to the City of College Station in its Charter
and under the statutes of the State of Texas the following described bicycle
routes are hereby established and the parking or driving of motor vehicles
or the placing of other obstructions within the marked bicycle lanes is
hereby prohibited.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 167 AUTHORIZING REMOVAL OF UNATTENDED VEHICLES
IN BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC WAYS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
That Ordinance No. 167, the Traffic Code of 1951, be amended by the
addition of a new paragraph to Section 81 to read as follows:
(d) Whenever any police officer finds a vehicle unattended upon
any marked bicycle or pedestrian traffic way where such vehicle
constitutes an obstruction to traffic thereon, such officer is hereby
authorized to provide for the removal of such venicle to a garage or
place of safety designated or maintained by the governmental agency
of which the officer is a member.
Nothing contained herein shall apply when the bicycle or pedestrian
traffic ways are marked by properly authorized signs which permit parking
during specified times and the unattended vehicle is parked during the time
specified by the sign.
All ordinances, orders or policies in conflict with this ordinance, or
inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the
extent necessary to give this ordinance full force and effect.
This ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days after the publication
thereof.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10, SECTIO'; '_ nF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, RELATING TO TRAFFIC CONTROL n!VICES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLE ^E STATION, TEXAS THAT:
I.
SUB - SECTION G OF CHAPTER 10, SECTIONN 2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION SHALL BE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
G. Bikeways and Bike Prohibitions
The City hereby designates certain city streets as bikeways and other streets
where bicycle travel is to be prohibited. The designated bikeways and
bicycle prohibitions for the City of College Station shall be controlled by
appropriate signing from the manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
These are described in Traffic Control Device Inventory - Schedule VI on file
in the office of the City Secretary. This schedule is hereby adopted and
incorporated in this Code as if set out at length herein. The schedule
may be amended from time to time by ordinance of the City Council. A current
schedule shall be maintained by the City Secretary at all times.
II.
CHAPTER 10, SECTION 2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF COLLEGE STATION SHALL
INCLUDE A NEW SUB - SECTION I TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
I. Duty to Obey Instructions of Traffic Control Devices
The driver of any vehicle shall obey the instructions of any official traffic
control device applicable thereto, placed in accordance with the provisions
of this section, unless otherwise directed by a traffic or police ofticer,
subject to the exceptions granted the driver of an authorized emergency
vehicle. No provision of this section for which official traffic control
devices are required shall be enforced against an alleged violation, if at
the time and place of the alleged violation, an official device is not in
proper position and sufficiently legible to be seen by an ordinarily
observant person.
III.
Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this ordinance
be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any purpose, the remainder of this
ordinance shall not be affected thereby.

IV.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed to {
extent of the conflict only.
V.
And, it is ordained that this ordinance shall become effective from and after its
passage in accordance with the city charter of the City of College Station.

WHEREAS, on the 11th day of September, 1986, the City Council of
the City of College Station, Texas, in the regular session met
and considered an amendment to Chapter 10, Section 2, Subsection
G of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College Station,
Texas;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS:
That Chapter 10, Section 2, Subsection G of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of College Station, Texas, is hereby
amended making the current Subsection G into G (1) and creating a
Subsection G (2) as follows:
G. BIKEWAYS AND BIKE PROHIBITIONS
(1) The City hereby designates certain city streets as
bikeways and other streets where bicycle travel is to
be prohibited. The designated bikeways and bicycle
prohibitions for the City of College Station shall be

ORDINANCE NO. 2319
AN ORDINANCE, AMENDING CHAPTER 10, "TRAFFIC CODE ", OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, BY AMENDING
CERTAIN SECTIONS AS SET OUT BELOW; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
AND DECLARING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That Chapter 10, "Traffic Code ", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of College
Station, Texas, be amended as set out in Exhibit "A ", attached hereto and made a
part of this ordinance for all purposes.
PART 2: That if any provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be void or
unconstitutional, such holding shall in no way effect the validity of the remain`ng
provisions or sections of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect.
PART 3: That any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be
punishable by a fine of not less than Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than
Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00). Each day such violation shall continue or be
permitted to continue, shall be deemed a separate offense. Said Ordinance, being a
penal ordinance, becomes effective ten (10) days after its publication in the
newspaper, as provided by Section 35 of the Charter of the City of College
Station.

Amend Chapter 10, Section 2 -G, by adding a new subsection (3) to read as follows,
"(3) Parking is not permitted in a bike lane unless otherwise designated in
Chapter 10, Section 4.E of this Code of Ordinances."
That Chapter 10, Section 4, is hereby amended by adding a new subsection E to read as follows:
"E. PARKING IN BIKE LANES
The City hereby designates certain sections of streets where parking is
permitted in a bike lane on a limited basis during specified times:
(1) Anderson Street from Park Place to Holleman Drive, weekdays
from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and on weekends."

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10, SECTION 2 OF THE COLLEGE
STATION CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO TRAFFIC CONTROL
DEVICES AND SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATING ADDITIONAL STREETS AND
ALLEYWAYS IN THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION WHICH ARE
DESIGNATED AS ONE -WAY STREETS; RESCINDING ALL PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING THAT
ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION, TEXAS;
I.
That Chapter 10, Section 2 of the Code of Ordinances, City
of College Station, Texas, is hereby amended by adding a
sub - section, to be numbered sub - section J, which said sub-
section shall read as follows:
"J. ONE -WAY STREETS AND ALLEYWAYS
The city hereby designates certain streets and
alleyways to be controlled by one -way signs. The
designated one -way streets and alleyways for the
City of College Station are described in Traffic
Control Device Inventory - Schedule VII, (dated
June 1, 1989) on file in the office of the City
Secretary. This schedule is hereby adopted and
incorporated in this Code as if set out at length
herein and amended to include the following one -
way streets and or alleyways.
(1) Alleyway on the south boundary of the Southgate
Shopping Center. This alleyway shall be signed
one -way traveling from Montclair Avenue to
Highland Street.
A current schedule shall be maintained by the city
secretary at all times."
II.
WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the
public necessitates immediate action, this Ordinance shall
be effective from and after the date of its passage as
provided by the Charter of the City of College Station.

The following streets and alleyways in the City of College
Station shall be signed for one -way operation following
guidelines described in the Texas Manual of Uniform Traffic
Control Devices:
1.) Patricia Street - one -way traveling from College
Main to Lodge Street.
2.) Williams Street - one -way traveling from Gilchrist
Avenue to Francis Drive.
3.) Caudill Street - one -way traveling from Lawyer
Street to Langford Street only during the hours
of 7 :30 - 4 :00.

SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING A PENALTY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That Chapter 10, "Traffic Code ", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
College Station, Texas, be amended as set out in Exhibit "A ", attached hereto and
made a part of this ordinance for all purposes.
PART 2: That if any provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be void or
unconstitutional, such holding shall in no way effect the validity of the remaining
provisions or sections of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and
effect.
PART 3: That any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be punishable by a fine of not less than Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) nor
more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00). Each day such violation shall
continue or be permitted to continue, shall be deemed a separate offense. Said
Ordinance, being a penal ordinance, becomes effective August 1, 2009.

That Chapter 10, Section 2, of the Code of Ordinances, City
of College Station, Texas, is hereby amended by adding a Sub-
section "K," which shall read as follows:
"K. SPECIAL HAZARD INTERSECTIONS CONTROLLED BY NO RIGHT TURN,
NO LEFT TURN SIGNS.
The City hereby designates the intersection of Mile Drive
and State Highway 6 West Frontage Road as a special hazard
intersection, to be controlled by "No Left Turn," "No Right
Turn" signs as described in the Traffic Control Device ?n-
ventory -- Schedule VIII on file in the office of the City
Secretary. This schedule is hereby adopted and incorporated
in the Code as if set out at length herein. The schedule
may be amended from time -to -time by ordinance of the City
Council. A current schedule shall be maintained by the City
Secretary at all times."
II.
And, it is ordained that this ordinance shall become effec-
tive from and after its passage in accordance with the city
charter of the City of College Station.
