Called City Council Meeting
January 15, 1975

MEMBERS PRESENT' Mayor O.M. Holt; Councilmen Brison, Dale, Gardner, Dozier, Adams,
Bravenec; City Manager Bardell; Assistant Director of Public Works
Ford; City Planner Bill Koehler; Planning Assistant A1 Mayo.
MEMBERS ABSENT- None.
GUESTS PRESENT- See register.
The meeting was called to order at 5-05 P.M.
Agenda Item No. 1--Appointment of Neighborhood Committees for the Community
Development Plan. Mr. A1 Mayo reviewed the results of questionnaires returned to
his office and discussed the function of the neighborhood committees.
Councilman Dale moved that the following persons be appointed chairmen of
the Neighborhood Committees'
Neighborhood A ---
Neighborhood B ---
Neighborhood C ---
Neighborhood D ---
Melvin Rucker
Thelman Harris
Rosa Mosley
Leslie Johnson
The motion was seconded by Councilman Adams and unanimously approved.
Councilman Dale moved that each neighborhood be represented by three members,
including the Chairman, on the Citizen's Advisory Committee. The motion was
seconded by Councilman Gardner and approved by the following vote:

Agenda Item No. 2 -- Other business. Councilman Brison recalled last year's joint
meeting of the City Council and the TAMU Student Senate External Affairs Committee and
moved that the City Council host a similar dinner meeting this year. The motion
was seconded by Councilman Dale and unanimously approved. Possible subjects of dis-
cussion were considered. The City Manager was directed to meet with the student
committee to set a date.
The reopening of the municipal swimming pool was discussed. Councilman Dale moved
that the pool be reopened to public use and that arrangements be made to allow
organizational users to defray some of the cost by providing their own lifeguards.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Brison and unanimously approved. Mayor Holt
instructed the City Manager to arrange details of provisions for adequate lifeguards.
Councilman Adams suggested that the committee to consider water supply and "electrical
power generation be reactivated. The Council consented and Mayor Holt.appointed
Councilmen Adams, Brison and Dale to the committee. ·

The Council commended the people responsible for the clean-up of Wolf Pen
Creek in the Redmond Terrace area.
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned.
