subcontracting the construction of the sewage treating plant to R. B.
Butler, Inc. of Bryan, Texas.
The vote of the Council was unanimous in favor of the motion.
Councilman Orr made a motion, seconded by Councilman Boyett, that
in view of the increasing amount of work involved, and the adverse
criticism which the city suffers because of misunderstanding of
differences in assessments and tax rates as established by the A & M
Consolidated School and the City of College Station, the Board of
Trustees of the A & M Consolidated School be advised that the city
will discontinue assessing and collecting school taxes effective
January 31, 1956.
Councilmen Black, Boyett, Orr and Seeger voted for the motion,
Councilman Sorrels against.
