March 23, 1964
Members Present: Mayor Langford; Councilmen Landiss, Sorrels, Boyett, Orr,
Rosprim, Rhodes; City Secretary Manning, City Attorney
Sandstedt, City Manager Boswell.
Visitors Present: M. G. Perkins, David Mayo and representative of Bryan Eagle.
On motion by Councilman Sorrels, seconded by Councilman Rosprim, the
minutes of the last meeting were approved.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, Ordinance
No. 391, an ordinance calling for a public hearing on rezoning Lot B, Tauber
Addition, was passed and approved and ordered published.
On motion by Councilman Rosprim, seconded by Councilman Boyett, the
bid of International Harvester Company on one 2 ton truck and one 12 ton
truck was accepted.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, the request
of Mr. M. C. Pugh that the city participate in the cost of certain street
improvements completed by him and Mr. Drew Woods was denied for the reason
that the city is legally bound to set forth in detail specifications for all
street work and then advertise for bids on such construction.
Councilman Rhodes' report on church directional signs was accepted and
his efforts commended.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 340 dated April 30, 1962, and Ordinance No.
341 dated April 30, 1962, which said ordinances are hereby referred to and
made a part hereof for all purposes, the City of College Station, Texas,
authorized the improvement of Glade Street, Orr Street, and sundry other
streets in the City of College Station, Texas, and levied assessments on
property owners abutting such streets, and provided for the issuance of
assignable certificates in evidence thereof, and
WHEREAS, the said improvements on Glade Street, Orr Street, and sundry
other streets have now been completed in a good and workmanlike manner, which
fact has been duly authenticated by the city manager of the City of College
Station, Texas,
BE IT RESOLVED that the said improvements on Glade Street, Orr Street,
and sundry other streets are hereby declared to be complete as of this date,
all of said improvements are hereby accepted by the City and the mayor and
the city secretary are hereby directed to proceed with the issuance of
assignable certificates evidencing such improvements and to further proceed
with the collection of all assessments upon such abutting property owners.
Passed this 23rd day of March, 1964, upon motion by Councilman Orr,
seconded by Councilman Rosprim.

On motion by Councilman Landiss, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, Ordi-
nance No. 392, an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 210, Section 15-b, by
providing for the placing of six (6) inch compact depth limestone base on
all new streets in all new subdivisions to the City of College Station, Texas,
and repealing that portion of Ordinance No. 210 calling for the placing of a
six (6) inch compact depth gravel base.
On motion by Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Landiss, plats of
installments 3 and 4 of Woodson Village were referred to the Planning and
Zoning Commission for final approval; and after approval and signature of
the chairman of the commission the mayor is authorized to sign same for the
city.
The council adjourned subject to call.
