On this the 2nd day of April, 1969, the City Council of the City of College
Station, Texas, convened in special session at the regular meeting place thereof
with the following members present, to -wit:
Mayor D. A Anderson
Councilman Robert R. Rhodes
Councilman B J Cooley
Councilman James H. Dozier
Councilman Dan R. Davis
Councilman C. H. Ransdell
Assistant City Attorney Tom Giesenschlag
City Manager Ran Boswell
City Secretary Lynda Swoveland
and the following absent: Councilman O. M. Holt
constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were the following:
Councilman Dozier introduced a resolution and order and
moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ransdell, and the
motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution and order prevailed by the
following vote, AYES: all NOES: none.
The resolution is as follows:
There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the
1st day of April, 1969, for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials,
and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast
at said election valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said election
received the following votes:

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in
accordance with law, and that said election was held in accordance with law, and
that Bill J. Cooley, Joseph J. McGraw and Dan R. Davis
were duly elected Councilmen of said city at said election, and that said above named
parties are hereby declared duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the
taking of their oaths as provided by the laws of the State of Texas.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this the 2nd day of April, 1969.

Members Absent: Councilman O. M. Holt and City Attorney Don Dillon
Mayor Anderson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p. m. for the purpose
of opening bids for the City Hall and Fire Station -Police Headquarters. C. R. Watson,
Architect for the City Hall and Fire Station -Police Headquarters, read the bids after
each was opened and checked by Assistant City Attorney Tom Giesenschlag. The bids
are as follows:

After the bids were read, the architect stated that he would like to have time to
talk to the low bidder, Barsh Construction Company of Waco. The mayor informed those
present for the bid opening that the successful bidder would be notified as soon as possible
but within 30 days.
Mayor Anderson called for canvassing the election returns of the April 1, 1969
City Council Election. On motion by Councilman Dozier, seconded by Councilman Ransdell,
the election returns were approved by resolution. Motion carried.

Mayor Anderson swore into office Bill J. Cooley, Dan R. Davis and Joseph
On behalf of the Council, Mayor Anderson expressed their appreciation to
Councilman Rhodes for his faithful service during the time he was on the City Council.
On motion by Councilman Dozier, seconded by Councilman Davis, the meeting
adjourned at 6:45 p. m. , subject to call.
