The main reason the College Station
Fire Department is publishing the
pamphlet is to educate the public
about Fire Lanes.
It is our desire to keep the fire lanes
clear and unobstructed for the
immediate use of emergency
vehicles during a time of need.
This can be done through education
or enforcement. Education is the
most cost effective manner for both
the city and the residents, but if
education does not prove effective
there is no alternative other than
enforcement.
The city has an obligation to
provide all citizens with a safe
environment to live in and the
College Station Fire Department is
committed to making sure the
obligation is met.
