Tryouts & registration every Saturday in May. State qualifiers compete in 1991 Games of Texas in Dallas. 1991 NATIONAL JUNIOR TENNIS LEAGUE Registration at Central Park, 764 -3486. Learn tennis /play tennis. Children ages 8 -18 become a member of a team meeting 3 times a week. SPLASH CAMP 5 week camps at Southwood Valley. Children 5 -8 years old meet Mon. & Wed. or Tues. & Thurs. $20 per session. Partici- pants swim, eat a sack lunch, have craft activities and story time plus more. The Center is available for rental to any individual or group, with accommodations from 10 -400 in various rooms, day or evening. Tables, chairs, podiums, movie screens, flip charts, audio visual equipment, piano, kitchen, ice machine, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee pots, patios, and an 800 square foot deck are available. Rates and fees depend on the type of group utilizing the facility. Reservations should be made one to three months in advance. A deposit is required upon reservation. Located adjacent to the Conference Center. WHO? Run by the City of College Station Parks and Recreation Department's Conference Center staff, along with adult attendants and an advisory committee of teenagers. HOURS: September through May: Monday- Friday after school AQUATICS 3:00 -5:30 pm, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th grades Friday & Saturay nights AWARD 7:00 -10:00 pm, 6th, 7th & 8th grades HOW TO JOIN: Applications for membership available at the Teen Center or Conference Center. Capacity crowd is 150 each night, first come first served. HOW MUCH: September- May $15.00 (prorated based on month joined). $2.00 for non - members at the door each Friday and Saturday nights. No charge for 5th -8th after school. No charge for membership for 5th grade, but allowed in after school only. PARK BUCKS can be used for membership fees. TEEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Consists of strong leaders and role models. The whole operation depends on the enthusiasm and follow- through of the Teen Advisory Committee. Teens learn the value of sharing responsibilities and their municipal government and its processes. Interviews and selections are held periodically throughout the year. PROSPECTIVE OUTCOME: Shenanigan's Teen Center provides a place for teens to gather, under adult supervision, to interact with peers and share experiences, as well as responsibilities, while maintaining the full support and trust of the community and the College Station City Council. City of College Station's Lifeguards Gabrielle Gammon and Spencer Wingate were the winners of this years 1990 Texas Super Guard Competition.
