BE IT KNOWN that the City of Collegc Station. Texas, an incorporated municipality of the State
of Texas in the United States of America, and the City of Ciudad Real, a municipality
organized under the laws of Spain, hereby proclaim, declare and publish their interest in
establishing an Agreement of Friendship and Partnership that will enhance the knowledge,
quality of life and historical relationship between the citizens of said caim and,
WHEREAS, the City of College Station and the City of Ciudad Real wish to proclaim, declare and
publish their noble intent to enter into this formal relationship within the tams, aspiramms l
and constraints of this Agreement of Friendship and Partnership: and
WHEREAS, this compact between the City of College Station and the City ofCiudad Real is an
expression of both mayors' promise of goodwill and demotion to their arizenes cultural.
commercial and educational interests; and,
WHEREAS, it is the hope of the Mayor of College Station and of the Mayor of Ciudad Real that this
Agreement of Friendship and Partnership shall form the fourdation for present and furore l
engagements by citizens and businesses of both cities to exchange ideas, knowledge and
culture in a manner that shall improve the lives of their citizens and communities. I
NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City of College Station and the City of Ciudad i

and shared partnerships in areas of agricuhurr, arts and culture comment, educatiom
