AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE AD VALOREM TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE
MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING FOR
THE GENERAL DEBT SERVICE FUND FOR THE YEAR 2010-11 AND APPORTIONING EACH LEVY
FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied and there shall be collected for the use and support of the
municipal government of the City of College Station, Texas, and to provide General Debt Service for the
2010-11 fiscal year upon all property, real, personal and mixed within the corporate limits of said city
subject to taxation, a tax of forty four and seventy five hundredths and forty three thousandths cents
($0.447543) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00) valuation of property, and said tax being so levied and
apportioned to the specific purpose herein set forth:
For the maintenance and support of the general government
(General Fund), twenty two and seventy three hundredths and forty nine
thousandths cents ($0.227349) on each one hundred dollar ($100.00)
valuation of property; and
2. For the general obligation debt service (Debt Service Fund), twenty two
and one hundredths and ninety four thousandths cents ($0.220194) on
each one hundred dollars ($100.00) valuation of property to be used for
principal and interest payments on bonds and other obligations of the
fund.
SECTION II. All moneys collected under this ordinance for the specific items therein named, shall be and
the same are hereby appropriated and set apart for the specific purpose indicated in each item and the
Assessor and Collector of Taxes and the Chief Financial Officer shall keep these accounts so as to
readily and distinctly show the amount collected, the amounts expended and the amount on hand at any
time, belonging to such funds. It is hereby made the duty of the Tax Assessor and Collector to deliver a
statement at the time of depositing any money, showing from what source such taxes were received and
to what account (General Fund or General Debt Service Fund) the funds were deposited.
Section III. THIS TAX RATE WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND
OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
SECTION IV. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
