A. "Andy" Anderson reports. It consisted of placing condemn- ation signs on some houses no longer suitable for human habitation. Additional houses will be so marked, he said. This is but the first step toward eliminating a blight from our community, Anderson stated. Follow - up action will be taken later toward the removal of such houses, he continued. Assisting the Mayor in posting houses was City Manager Ran Boswell. The City of College Station is currently making application with Housing and Urban Development for a Workable Program. Commenting on the Workable Program, Mayor Anderson said, "the achievement of this approval from HUD has been a, goal for over two years. Only with the passage of necessary codes, however, have we been able to take specific action towards securing such program approval from HUD. With the Workable Program, we can move out to tackle housing needs for the less fortunate in our community, the Mayor concluded. 1UNFIT FOR HUMAN HABITATION
