Future A&M professor Norman Borlaug won the Nobel Peace Prize
for his contributions to increasing the world's food supply.
Or. Borlaug was an agricultural scientist whose research with
high -yield varieties of wheat in the 1960s in Mexico led to crop
innovations that helped farmers around the globe feed more of
the world's population.
Or. Borlaug joined Texas A&M University in 1984 as Distinguished
Professor of International Agriculture, and founded the Office of
iInternational Agriculture Programs —renamed the Borlaug
PrA I I Institute in 2006—which continuesto uphold his legacy of
