The training, sponsored by the local Homebuilders Association, will be held on Thursday, February 17th from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm in room 127 of the College Station Conference Center. The following is a ݱ´´»¹» ͬ¿¬·±²ô ééèìî brief summary of the information presented in this report: и±²»æ çéçóéêìóêîëî The current population estimate is 80,254. ÚßÈæ çéçóéêìóíèïì Total population has increased almost 40 percent in 10 years Û³¿·´æ ³®±¼¹»®à½¬¨ò¹±ª Average gain of 2,665 persons annually since 1995 Average annual growth rate of 4.5 percent since 1995 In 2000, approximately 36,000 residents of College Station identified themselves as being enrolled in post-secondary education. This is an increase of 16 percent since 1990 Census The number of college students declined from 60 percent of total population in 1990 to 50 percent in 2000 A&M enrollment has increased only 1 percent annually since 1995 Fall enrollments at the Blinn College Bryan Campus have increased 31% for the pe- riod of 1999-2004 College-aged residents of College Station have declined as a percentage of total population between 1990 and 2000 æØiËØÎÏÉÕØÆØÛ Other estimates The Texas State Data Center at UTSA estimates our population to be 73,691 as of ÆÆÆÚÊÉÅÖÎÇ January 1, 2004 The U.S. Census Bureau estimates our population to be 73,536 as of July 1, 2003 For more information, or a copy of this report, please contact Lindsay Boyer (lboyer@cstx. gov). We hope to see you there. Department Changes to Improve our Customer Service Two New Changes Effective March 2005: Deadline Schedule Revision and Facilitation Meet- ings. The Deadline Sheet has been changed in order to facilitate submittal deadlines. All deadlines are now on Mondays at 10:00 a.m., including P&Z deadlines. If Monday is a holi- day, the deadline will fall on Tuesday. Please take a look at our new deadline schedule on our web site and use it when making future submittals. Our Department is also excited to announce that we've created a new facilitation meeting. This meeting will be held on Tuesday afternoons providing our customers with the opportu- nity to meet with staff and discuss review comments on projects they have submitted the week before.
