HomeMy WebLinkAboutMuseum of Natural History planning brochure1 N 1. FROM THE PRESIDENT As we prepare for our 20th anniversary at the Brazos Valley Museum, it's time to plan our future. We have re- sponded to the growth in the Brazos Valley with our own growth in innovative programs. But growth can be an enemy if it goes undirected. A plan is needed to inventory the resources of the com- munity and decide what the community needs for a museum are. Then we can develop a coordinated plan for exhibits, programs, physical facilities, natural areas, and resources. This plan will help us respond to the opportunities our new facilities in the Brazos Center provide, and give guidance to our new director, Dale Bode. The planning process will begin in September and cul- minate in January with the Brazos Valley Museum Master Plan —a fitting 20th anniversary present. A team of volunteers and Texas A &M students, under the direction of volunteer professional planners, will prepare the plan. What's the bottom line? We need your help to pay for supplies and support services. The plan will cost $2220 to prepare, but the benefits will be immediate. With a plan, we will be more competitive for grant monies and able to com- mit existing resources to their best use. Will you take part? Read on for planning details and what you can do.
