Fred Brison, Don
Dale and R.D. Radeleff
have taken office 'as
College Station's newest
member of the city coun-
cil following the April
6 election.
For Place One, Brison
had 877, followed by Mrs.
C.Ii. Godfrey with 151 and
Eldon W. Oxley with 139.
In Place Two, Dale de-
feated incumbent .Joe
McGraw by a 564 to 397
vote. Thomas Chaney
received 202 votes.
In Place Three,
Radeleff polled 639, fol-
lowed by Edward H.
Miller with 289 and
Robert A. Knapp with 201.
In Tuesday's election
voters also approved $1,
774,500 in street and util-
ities bonds.

The College Station City
Council canvassed the election
returns of Tuesday's city
council election and declared
the results of the bond election
during a special meeting
Wednesday aft,�rnoon.
The newly elected coun-
cilmen, Fred Brison, R. D.
Radeleff and Due, Dale, were
officially installed.
Ran Boswell, city manager,
said the work will begin on the
$1,774,500 bond issue as soon as
possible.
"Right now, it's in the
financial advisor's hands to
prepare ordinances for the bond
issue for the issuance of bonds,"
Boswell said.
Boswell said the ordinances
will authorize the issuance of
EDA grant. Sewer system
improvements proposed total
$500,000.
Electrical system im-
provements cost $380,000.
The bond issue calls for the
completion of Southwest park-
way from SH 6 tc, Wellborn
Road; and curbs, gutters, storm
drainage systems, dnd widening
of SH 6 to :six lan °s from Jersy
to 300 feet beyond F--Ileman.
Other street improvements
include Lincoln from SH6 to
Ashburn, Welch from Southwest
Parkway to Holleman, and
Holleman from Glade to Win-
ding Road.

He said the city has not
decided whether to begin the
improvemen proposed by the
bond issue singly or all at once.
The bond issue calls for
revenue bonds for water, sewer
and electrical system in-
provements totaling $1,630,00
with some funds from the
federal government for street
re p a i r s, drainage im-
provements, and traffic signals
totaling $47.7,90.
The bond issue calls for
$250,000 in water improvements
with bond money and an EDA
grant splitting the cost.
The bond issue also includes
$500,00 for a sewage treatment
plant with $292,500 being from
bond money and $207,000 by an
