In a preview for the news
media, College Station Mayor
D. A. (Andy) Anderson con-
ducted a tour throiugh the new
city hall and fire - police station
Monday afternoon.
The formal dedication and
open house is scheduled from
2 to 5 p.m. Satrnrday at the
city hall located between
Francis Drive acid Gilchrist
Avenue.
In his remarks the mayor
noted that $340,000 in bonds he
been authorized by the voter
Of College Station for th
facilities.
The building exceeded the
figure by $6,000 which th
mayor said was "not bad.
Anderson said no decision ha
been made yet on the penalt,
to be assessed the contractor.

Waco was working under a $10
a day fine for each day in ex
cess of his time limit. Th
original deadline was Nov. 1
1969. The architect has the fine
authority in deciding how mucl
penalty will be assessed, the
mayor said in an earlier in
terview.
Anderson said the $59,001
annual payment on the bond
will be made from income
collected from the city sale

personnel to operate.

The city also will hire a mar

The university has nurtured us
but that is coming to an end,"
the mayor said.
He pointed out one con-
venience which citizens asked
for —a drive -in window for bill
paying.
The old city hall will be used
for storage and office space,
Anderson said. In answer to
requests, the old council room
is being remodeled as a meeting
place for civic organizations
and women's gr he ex.
