PREPARATORY MEETING —D. A. (Andy) Anderson, center, head of the information and education depart- '
ment of the Texas Forest Service, who is based at College Station, was present at a meeting Wednesday to dis-
cuss with Mrs. Nat Williams, left, and Robert Fewin plans for the statewide observance of Arbor Day, to be
held in Lubbock for the first time. The observance is scheduled for Jan. 21 at the J. A. Hodges Community
Center. Mrs. Williams is chairman of the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum B o a r d and Fewin is a soil scientist
with the Department of Agronomy of the Texas Forest Service. Gov. and Mrs. Preston Smith and heads of vari-
