Dear Members and Friends:
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to the
Blue Grass State. Previous National Specialties held here in Lexington,
have always drawn record entries. And they have always been highlight
dog events. The 1980 National Specialty, I know, will prove to be another
memorable national Dalmatian gathering. Those of you who have visited with
us before, will hopefully serve to introduce our new guests to the special
regional aspects of the weekend.
On Thursday, August 28th, the DCA Sweepstakes and Futurity will be
judged. Friday August 29th, will be the National Specialty, held at the
Kentucky Horse Park, followed on Saturday, by the Lexington Kennel Club
All Breed Show. Mid - Kentucky Kennel Club, will host their All Breed Show
on Sunday, August 30th. The weekend will conclude with the Louisville
Kennel Club Show on Monday, September 1st. It will be convenient for
everyone to stay at the DCA Headquarters, Holiday Inn North for the entire
weekend.
There will be a Horse Farm Tour tentatively scheduled for Wednesday
afternoon. Thursday evening will be a festive event at the Horse Park,
with a "Kentucky" night. On Friday night, we will have the traditional
Specialty dinner, also at the Horse Park.
As the Spring progresses, you will be receiving additional information
concerning the tour, dinners, lodging and the sights to enjoy in the area.
We look forward to greeting you in August and hope that this year will
prove to be one of the best National Specialties ever held.
Sincerely
a:CC

Dear Dalmatian Friends:
Mark Labor Day weekend for a great time in the beautiful Bluegrass Country! The
1980 DCA Specialty will be held at the glorious Kentucky State Horseman's Park
in Lexington. Won't our Dals be a lovely addition?
In planning for this great event, we must be thinking ahead to trophies. It is
through your generosity that the DCA will be offering beautiful and unusual
Armetale awards to commemorate the occasion. With your help, the trophies listed
on the next page will become a reality. LARGE or SMALL, your donations are
WELCOME and NEEDED! The prices listed on the next page are merely a guide and in
no way does it mean you must donate the entire amount listed. Send whatever you
can and your class preference. Every effort will be made to give you the class
coverage you request. However, we must designate on a first -come, first -serve
basis.
Also welcome are special trophies of your own choosing. I would appreciate these
trophies in my hands by the deadline to avoid last minute preparation for the show.
Thank you for your help!
Sincerely,
