The Brazos County Interjurisdictional Emergency Manage-
ment /Civil Defense Office will hold its annual meeting on
tornado and severe weather spotting, reporting and warning
procedures. The meeting will be held at 4 :00 p.m. on Tuesday,
April 10, 1990 in the City Council Room of Bryan. City Hall,
Bryan, Texas.
The purpose of this meeting is to review our procedures
so that we will be better equipped in protecting life and
property and keeping our couuuunity informed on severe weather
threats. Mr. Bill Weaver, Meteorologist in charge of the
National Weather Service under the National Oceanic and Atmos-
pheric Administration in Waco, will meet with us for coordina-
tion of local severe weather reports and warnings.
Please invite your communications supervisor to attend this
important meeting. Since severe weather is one of our most
frequent disaster threats, I feel that we should make every
possible effort to attend.
Because of the crucial role our local broadcast media plays
in keeping our community informed during an emergency, the cooper-
ation and assistance of all area radio and television station
managers is requested. This is vital to the success of our emer-
gency planning and the safety of all citizens in our community.
Your attendance is needed and will be sincerely appreciated.
