1. HURRICANE ALLEN - Review of FEMA findings during
Hurricane Allen August 7 -10. The FEMA - Region VI
Emergency Management Newsletter Oct -Nov 1980 re-
ports that the Combined Application- Verification
Process (CAVP)for more than 27,000 victims had
serious problems when applied to a disaster of
that magnitude.
The Texas Civil Preparedness "The Digest" Summer
1980 had a good recap on the onslaught of Hurricane
Allen.
North Bardell reported that the City Manager of
Robstown telephoned him (members of Texas Public
Power System) before Hurricane Allen hit. This
got prompt response of teams from several towns
including College Station to immediately come to
Robstown and quickly repair the damage of the storm.
2. Hazardous Materials - A FEMA report projects that
Hazardous Materials accidents could be a greater
threat than nuclear accidents.
Our Hazardous Materials plan needs updating. Our
key people will be called for a meeting to accomplish
this.

reviewed and updated. Jake Canglose will distribute
copies to the key people when completed.
A Film on this subject may be in College Station.
