The Texas A. and M. Faculty in agriculture is corn- W posed of about 110 scientists. Nearly all of them have earned doctoral degrees and nearly all of J them fill the dual role of being both highly able 0 research scientists and master teachers. Many of V them have held high office in the national socie- ties in their specialties, which is tangible recogni- tion of their achievements. Apparatus, instrumen- tation and physical equipment used in classwork is entirely modern and is equal in quality and quantity to facilities in comparable high- ranking schools of agriculture in other sections of the na- tion. The fifteen teaching departments offer in struction in about thirty degree programs and N specialties, which prepare for careers in agricul- tural technology, business and human relations. G. M. These necessities must first be satisfied, both in quantity and quality, at an ever - reduced amount of human effort, if the level of living of our peo- ple is to increase so they can enjoy the comforts and luxuries that are possible from an expanded industrial output. The profession of agriculture is one of the oldest and most honorable of the ac- tivities of mankind. Never before in the history of this Nation has the need in agriculture for capable and well- train- ed minds been greater than today. Likewise, never have the opportunities in this area been greater or more rewarding. At Texas A. and M. the students have the op- - portunity of association in academic and social life with teachers and researchers who are world au- thorities in many of the fields of agriculture and science. In addition to a highly qualified faculty, the College has facilities and equipment equal to any in the nation to provide exceptionally good educational opportunities to meet the training needs for the agricultural leaders of tomorrow.
