A &M Consolidated's Tigers
returned another first team per-
former from the injured list this
week as Edsel Jones' team re-
gains its original strength for
Friday's contest with the Gid-
dings Buffaloes.
Senior Charles Roeber, start-
ing cent e r, got the go -ahead
from both doctor and coach to
return to workouts Monday. The
170 senior has missed Consoli-
dated's first three games with a
dislocated shoulder. He played a
leading part in the Tiger line
both on offense and defense last
year.
"I WISH WE could play ball
all the time like we did in the
third quart e r," commented
Jones. The Tiger s lost last
week's game, 22 -16, to Madison-
ville.
Scoring twice in the big third
period on drives of 62 and 63
yards Consolidated held the
Mustangs scoreless while tying
the count.
Quarterback Russell Welch
came up for praise for his lead-
ership in the final two periods.
Also singled out by Jones were
end Irvin Todd, guard Robert
Chenault, tackle Sid Coufal and
halfbacks Ozzie Burke and Jim -
bo Carroll.
GIDDINGS WILL bring a
large, experienced team to Tig-
er Field for the week's menu.
The Buffs return ten seniors and
a junior, having lost only four
starters.
R. J. Nitsche pilots the Gid-
dings "T ", with Roy S c h u 1 z,
Roy Weise and James Ponfick
for carrying assignments. Gid-
dings defeated the Tigers last
year, 14 -8.

Charles Roeber, who recently
returned from injury, will be
alternating with Fred Worley on
offensive center and will be
going full time on defense.
Tonights game provides pre-
view of how the Tigers will look
in nearing district play. This
is the first time that they will
have the presence of the full
squad since late in August.
