A &M Consolidated's Tigers
expect more gridders on the
field and less on the sick list
Friday when they host the St.
Anthony Bulldogs of Beaumont
in their home game.
Edsel Jones carried a light 16-
man party to Navasota last Fri-
day when the Rattlers hung up
a 16 -5 victory. The remainder of
the Tiger squad, counting grid -
ders sidelined with injuries,
were dropped from its traveling
roster for disciplinary reasons.
JONES' SICK list is slowly
getting weaker with the return at
of Ozzie Burke to his right half
slot this week. Still missing .
from the first unit backfield is
Jim McAfee, junior fullback. He • \
and Charles Roeber, center, are iir
expected back in the lineup next •
week after a two -weeks absence
with separated shoulders.
Irvin Todd,split end, came
back from a minor back injury
last Friday to give a top grade
performance, according to game
film studies. Freshmen Hubert
Hearne and senior high Par-
ILE
sons were also rated high.
IM
JONES EXPRESSED some
satisfaction with the Tiger of-
fense, but pointed out Consoli-
dated', inability to control the
DDS ball long enough for paydirt
. strikes.
The College Station eleven
will be starting with three of
four returning lettermen in an
effort to reverse a slight 16 -14
loss at Purple Stadium in Beau-
mont last year.

John Coutee, 135, and Kerwin
Danna, 129, at left and right
halfback.

150, and Dan Patrizi, 170;
guards, Mike Phelan, 158, and
Bill Crowley, 155, and center,
Pat Marlin, 150, a converted
quarterback.
Ozzie Burke, 157, right half,
returns to the Tiger lineup this
week, but the Tigers lose Jimbo
Carroll, 150, his running mate
from tonight's starting eleven.
Hubert Hearne, who ran for
Burke against the Rattlers,
switches over while Russell
Welch and soph Jay Pewthers

starting in place of soph Bill
White at center. Larry Randolph
and Irvin Todd were named for
ends, Robert Chenault and J.
W. Parsons, tackles and Sidney
Coufal and David Parsons,
guards.

Welch.
