I would like to attend this exercise to look at the mobile command post communications center operations that they will be using. I think it would give us some input into the possibility and design of a mobile command post which we may one day be able to acquire. I believe you will find this a very worthwhile effort to attend and observe this operation. We lucked out, and if you're still interested, you won't even have to travel very far to observe our system. Our next Advance Fire Training course will be put on at the Kurten Fire Station Fr4day afternoon and Saturday, April 24 -25. ff il I i Basicall fire training staff, from Lufkin, begins the course with an }your and a half orientation period at the fire station at about_X p.m. on Friday afternoon, and then we put on a practice simulated large fire (or disaster) exercise Friday evening. In addition to our fire training staff, one of our TFS Overhead (fire management system) Teams, usually 12 people, shows the students how to organize the disaster work and use the communications equipment. Then on Saturday morning, the students will actually get hands -on experience running the simulated exercise, with our overhead team and staffers assisting, either as counterpart role players, or to critique the event, or both. The Forest Resource Agency of Texas Canglose Memo Page 2 I have contacted State Forester Bruce Miles, Fire Control Department Head Pat Ebarb, and Training Officer Bill Terry and all issue a cordial invitation to attend and observe, and to bring any other Civil Defense people that you deem appropriate. I am Incident Information Officer (II0) on our "Red Team" (overhead team) and as such will be participating in this exercise, and will be happy to escort you and your party during the operation.
